Resumo: In 1960 Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA)implemented the ammonia/phenolphthalein leak detection system to test production aircraft fuel tanks. Despite safety concerns with toxicity, flammability, and corrosion, the ammonia test flourishes today as the premier leak test in BCA. The global nature of the premier leak test makes it simple, efficient, fast and it provides sensitivities into the 10 std cc/sec range
